Immune Boosting Orange Juice
Sometimes you just need a vibrant way to start off your day while also boosting your immune system. Especially during flu season!
Living in a home with multiple people who are exposed to totally different environments everyday- I personally find that it helps to have a few staple things at the ready to strengthen us from the inside out. I love drinking lemon water every morning (Also drinking lots of water in general, stay hydrated always, not just during flu season!) and keeping a stash of oregano oil capsules on hand. If I’m feeling weird I’ll often snag a ginger shot while out doing groceries for clients and make sure to eat in a way that further helps my body feel good. But there’s also this sweet yet spicy elixir that’s super easy to make (you don’t need a juicer! Just a blender) and stays fresh for about a week.
Immune Boosting Orange Juice
Author: Consciously Coastal
prep time: 10 | Servings: 6-8
- 32 oz orange juice
- 2-3 inches ginger root, peeled & chopped
- 4 tbs local honey, can also use manuka >* 2 tbs cinnamon
- Pinch of Himalayan salt
Instructions:
- Pour orange juice and prepped ginger into a high speed blender and blend in high until smooth. The amount of ginger you use will determine the spicy kick of the juice so use what’s best for you!
- When mixture is ready, using a fine strainer, strain the elixir into a separate container so you don’t drink any ginger fuzz and quick rinse your blender out.
- Once juice is strained and blender is clean, pour juice back into the blender, adding the remaining ingredients and blend until fully combined. Now you have vitamin C loaded ginger shots ready at home!
