An Ode to Fruit
Anyone else get the wiggles stuck in their head when they look at a fruit salad? But honestly- this has all the yumminess to it. Guava, papaya, dragon fruit, banana, Star fruit, passion fruit, fresh squeezed lime, hemp seeds, the gooooods. It reminds me of all the summers spent in Puerto Rico.
I love fruit because it really is nature’s candy. Sweet, juicy, fibrous. For a long time I treated fruit like it was a bad guy due to being a serious carb counter (I know I know). It hasn’t been until the last couple of years that I’ve really been incorporating it back into my diet and listening to my body when it wants some. Healing my relationship with food has been a JOURNEY, I’m still on it to be perfectly honest. But enjoying Blueberries in my smoothies, the occasional banana, getting festive with açaí bowls, all of these were little victories. It feels really good to break that negative relationship down and get more in tune with what my body actually needs vs what I want it to have to achieve or maintain a specific weight.
So, thanks fruit, for being here for me after all this time. You were deeply missed. I’m glad we are friends again.
